Cornell Takes the Cake!

Fierce determination (and possibly a fewer number of trees) has lead Cornell to victory again! Of the 10 models placed at each school, Cornell completed half of them and made significant progress on the others!

Trophies are going to:

And t-shirts are going to the 15 players listed below!

We're currently waiting for all shirt-size requests to come in and for the reconstructions to be re-processed... which will hopefully be done by Friday, June 4!

Your Objective: In the first round of our competition, players had to reconstruct as many buildings on their campus as they could. This time around, victory is found in completing the models that were created in the first round! Gems have been placed on the far, unreconstructed faces of each building. Grow the buildings to overlap and collect these gems!

Prizes

The school that completes their 10 buildings first wins!

Or the school that has completed the most (fewest uncaptured gems) by May 21

The player with the most gems at a each completed building gets a trophy!

We will give out up to 20 trophies! The buildings must be complete (circumnavigated, all gems collected) to qualify. The trophies are laser-etched cubes of the building point clouds.
Ray Keller of http://crystalprotein.com/ makes these for us!

The top 15 players get t-shirts!

Top players will be determined by the number of points. If you won a shirt in the last round, you can get a second shirt, or pass your shirt on to the next most active player

New Competition Rules and Game Mechanics

Gems

In this round, when you look at your map, you will see small gems around the borders of certain buildings.

Your mission is to take a picture of buildings in real life, wherever they happen to have a gem on the map -- however, before you capture a gem, you'll have to expand the model of the building until the 3D reconstruction contains the gem's location. To do this, you'll need to fill up the holes that are in the present models. (You can find out more about this on our How to Play page).

The player who collects the most gems around a building will get credited in the competition, and will win a prize at the end of it!

An important note: this time around, when you upload pictures, you'll have to upload them in the order that you want them to be processed!
